Choppy Playback - Divx 3 Fast Motion

Hi.
I am well aware of most codec's, played around with them etc.
My latest problem I haven't been able to solve is as follows.

I have P4-2Mhz, WinXP, WMP9, and most codecs.

A couple of .avi I have played are somewhat choppy.
Others are not.

Using G-spot, the info returned is peculiar.
The good divx's are encoded with DIVX 3 Low-motion.
The choppy movies are encoded with DIVX 3 Fast-motion.

Does anyone have a solution for this.
