I am running xp pro...Explorer cannot read a cd in my cd rw drive, a DVD or CD in my DVD RW, or even my removable disks (USB) anymore. Power DVD returns an error code 8004027a when I try to play a DVD movie. Explorer either returns nothing or says "please insert a disk..." In explorer, if you right click & select properties on the CD or DVD drive, you get 0 used 0 free.
In checking various forums, it has been explained that my aspi layers are messed up and that I should use ForceAspi to recreate. This has not worked...unless I am doing something wrong.
Device Manager says all is okay. With Nero, I can copy a cd to a blank cd...so I know the data is there and can be copied.
Can anyone help?
