    PowerDVD freeze PC

    Many thanks to Setarip and everybody else look at my previous problem.

    I changed the sound property in windows control panel, selecting the right speaker configuration, and now I can hear a fantastic 4 distinct channel surround.

    But now another serious problem appear: after a variable lapse of time during movie playback (from few minutes to more than one hour) the PC stop running, the image is freezed and I have to restart PC

    I don't know the reason, I have windows Me and PowerDVD 4.0 XP

    My pleasure ;>}

    You're "new" problem may be caused by something as simple as an overheating system...

      Hi Setarip,

      I can ensure you it's not an hardware problem, because PowerDVD 3.0 runs perfectly, but unfortunately, it doesn't support Dolby digital on 4 speakers.

      With PowerDVD 4.0, sometimes the blu screen appears, (general protection error in code segment bla bla), and you must restart PC, sometimes windows allows you to recover the error, and you can continue to watch the movie, sometimes it just freeze PC with the last image frame and you must restart PC.

      The amount of time before the event it's absolutely random, but I have the sensation it happen when windows start some kind of background process when you are not using PC (like screen saver, but it's disabled) few second before the error I can see hard disk seeking and movie slowing (also with PowerDVD 3.0, but it just slow for some minutes without locking)

        Replace

        Simply use WinDVD 3.1 DTS instead of PowerDVD

        You can find it free in www.******.com
