Welcome to the Digital Digest Video forum adsr!

"after burning a movie, some of the audio is in mpeg."
DVD Shrink does not modify the audio in any way, shape, or form. The only thing DVD Shrink allows you to do is pick which audio streams you do and do not want. All audio is in the .VOB files along with the video.

"no sound on some of the files when playback using stand alone dvd player"
Perhaps you trying to play "DTS" sound on a non compliant/compatible DTS system that doesn't have the needed cables for DTS audio.
