dvd player... any help here?

I have a samsung r120 recorder/player, its 4 months old and just recently it will not play any rental dvd's at all. I always get the message "this disc can neither be played or recorded". These are factory discs from the rental place ... any idea how I can trouble shoot this or advice? machine already junk? hehe...

Well, likewhoa, the obvious thing would be to make sure the discs are clean. I'm sure you've done that so the next thing I'd do is get one of those discs that clean the laser lens and try that. If that fails, I'd send it in for repairs since it should still be under warrenty.
