JCV XV-511 can't play widescreen dvd?!

hello everyone! im new and totally bad at any kind of electronics....not to speak of digital video.... anyhow, im trying to learn it at my best, so please help!

so as you can see from the title above, i own JVC XV-511(just someone gave it to me..) which ive recently started having a problem with.

when i play some widescreen-formatted softwares , the player just keeps reading, and then ends up pushing out the disc tray... im wondering if its caused by the screen format. i dont know.
did anybody have the same problem with the player?

the discs ive experienced the problem: walk the line, the island, the day after tomorrow, seabiscuit.

i dont know how i can explain this well. if you have any questions, please ask me. any suggestion welcome!

Check the JVC site for a firmware upgrade, or e-mail them about it. My JVC acts freaky sometimes, too, but not enough to mess with.

i already checked the website, but couldnt find any relevant info of the matter... you are right, i should email them.
