    @ soup

I have Nero 7. Not sure if you have the same version.

I am more confused than ever about what exactly enables iso playing?

methinks blutach has been cheating with nero when nobody's watching

are their any boxes out there that have never had nero on them?

it was "package 1" of nero 6.6.x that automatically "opened" ISO images for directshow apps, could be either burning rom or imagedrive that does it. my guess is it isn't intended for DVD video images since people here have reported having things like no audio and/or menus. also seemed to combine everything into a single title set. MPC does NOT play ISO images unless mounted with something like daemon tools or alcohol 120%.

VLC (and mplayer) play ISO images properly using libcdio, libdvdread & libdvdnav

methinks blutach has been cheating with nero when nobody's watching

I use to have Nero installed on this computer. Then I reformatted and didn't have any use for burning progs for a while. I found ImgBurn and that was it. No more Nero for me!

                    I tried Media Player Classic.
How do you open the ISO you want to play, because I tried it and it doesn't seem to want to click on the options I want to select.

Try right clicking on your ISO / Open With / Choose Program / scroll to Media Player classic. If that doesn't work try File / Open File then follow the attached pics.

Maybe somebody can figure this out or will the mystery continue? I have installed & I don't think I am leaving anything out:

Nero 6.6 fully updated / K-Lite Mega Codec Pack / PowerDVD 6 / Media Player Classic / VLC Media Player. I can play ISO's without doing anything to them on Nero showtime / PowerDVD 6 / Media Player Classic / VLC Media player.

I just tried opening an .ISO with WMP 9 and it worked, but I couldn't 'seek'...

I tried what soup said, and on both instances, when I click on what I want to play on the menu, the sound just stops and when I click again, it resumes and nothing else happens.
                          What should I do?
Or should I just downoad a different player?

                              Blutach,

I downloaded the classic player but it does not recognise the iso file from dvd shrink/imgburn. What will play these files? Thanks.

                              Richard
