    Problem making Dxr3 w/ Creative DVD1240E drive region-free

    I successfully updated the DVD1240E drive from firmware version 3c14 to the patched 3x14 (DriveInfo reports the drive is region free). I can use the modified RegSet application to switch the PC-DVD Encore application to any region any amount of times. However, whenever I put in a DVD (so far, only tried Region 1), the player says that the DVD, Region 1, does not match the hardware, Invalid Region. I tried using the original RegSet to set the Region, but nothing changes (RegSet always reports that the region is successfully set at Region 1). Does anyone know what's wrong? I'm running WinNT 4.0 build 1381, service pack 6, using the Dxr3 drivers from the latest (3/29/2000) online update. The drive is in DMA transfer mode on the secondary master EIDE.
