Hi everytime I'm trying to encode a certain avi I get an error message saying "Unable to find any cells that could be used for the layer break" with the option to cancel or continue. When I continue it will produce an iso file that is too big for the dvd (the options are set on "auto" for audio and video in the project settings and the correct DVD size is chosen). The file is 24 fps, xvid, 5.1 channel audio and subtitles. I'm new to this program and I have followed the step-by-step instructions on digital-digest exactly, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Cheers Gila

Hi,
I didn't do the avi.
I unticked 2 pass, but it doesn't make a difference. I still get the same error message when image burn opens, press continue and the file is still too big (6 GB (I always choose 4.3GB))

At 5971kbps video rate a 90 min video will result in around 3.8GB size. So,there is still plenty of space for the audio part. Strange that Flick is messing things up in spite of having calculated the correct bitrate.
BTW how do you know the video bitrate ? Mediainfo? What is the audio bitrate ? Any subtitles?Last edited by paglamon; 21 Jun 2007, 05:24 PM.sigpic

Thanks everyone! The iso is now 3GB. I will try to encode it at 5000 kbps.
Paglamon:
There are subtitles, but they're not showing on the vob files.
The audio info of the original (large vob) file is:
Audio #0
Codec : AC3
PlayTime : 1h 30mn
Bit rate : 448 Kbps
Bit rate mode : CBR
Channel(s) : 6 channels
Sampling rate : 48 KHz
ChannelPositions : Front: L C R, Rear: L R, Subwoofer
