    Well, not an expert but...

    What...
-brand of dvd blank media did you use to burn to? Crappy media can yeild badly burned discs..

-what speed was the burn done at (burning too fast can cause glitches like that)

-what program did you use to burn to disc?

      hey thanx for replying
the dvd's are sony dvd-R if thats what you were asking

im not sure what speed it burned at did not touch the setting, maybe I should? the discs say 1x-16x speed compatible on the box if that really means anything

and the burning software was what ever comes with dvd flick I burned straight to disk

Thanx again........ if you got any suggestions that would be awesome

I think the Sony blanks and or the firmware for your burner are the culprit. As Westly eluded to use quality discs such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. DVD Flick uses Imgburn as the default burn engine, which is what I would recommend you use for any standalone burning.

Post the log from Imgburn so we can take a look at a few things please.

wondering if there is a way my dvd player can play it smoothly

            maybe lower burn speed

or if have to use a program to change the audio

because if i can play the dvd fine in my computer then i think the dvd's im using are fine

              Wouldn't hurt...try 8X or 12X

This has nothing to do with it...in the future try some Verbatims.

              ATAPI DVD A DH16AYH YH13
There is also a firmware update for your drive...current version is YH14 from Compaq and can be found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...s=2093&lang=en
