Demacrovision on GF4 MX440

Since tv tool does not support this chip, has anyone managed to do this? What software should I use?

I've moved this discussion to the DVD Macrovision-Free forum.

Most GF4 MX card uses the Philips 7180 TV output encoder or an integrated NVIDIA TV out encoder. Unfortunately, documentation for these encoder chips are not readily available, and hence, no support for them can be found from tools such as TvTool.

Your best (and least costly) solution is to rip the DVD to your hard-drive and remove the Macrovision tag while doing it (check out DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper for Macrovision-free and region-free ripping) - this *should* allow you to playback the ripped (and Macrovision-free) DVD (from the hard-drive) without activating Macrovision in the TV-output :

(eg. in DVD Decrypter, select from the "Tools" menu -> "settings" -> "Remove Macrovision Protection" and then rip every file on the DVD to your hard-drive. The ripped files will be Macrovision-free. You can then use a software DVD player like WinDVD or PowerDVD, which can playback ripped DVDs from the hard-drive)

You might also want to try out DVDIdle (but it isn't a free software) :

My solution

Hi, I own a GF4 MX420.

Here's is my solution.

First, get back to NVIDIA 30.82 driver. (http://www.3dchipset.com)

Then switch to clone view in nvidia panel.
Go to overlay tab in nvidia dispay properties
Click on twinview and select full screen for your second monitor.

It works fine for me ...
