    Macrovision Level 2

There are two devices I know of to remove color stripe, one is the CCR-7 Coloor Corrector http://www.highway.net.au/parts/converters/1785.html
and the other in the ICOS Component to S/Video/Composite converter

(their web site is always down but they do respond to email.

If you're in the USA it's called a "Sima Color Corrector"

Pretty easy to find on the net.

      Good Luck

        Macrovision Level 2

Not to impressed with the review.

I looked for info on the ICOS unit but could not find any. Have sent email to tech@icos-tech.com will let you know what I get back.

MIne works like a Champ (and has for 4 years!!!).

Not sure what those dudes are smokin, but the unit may have changed since I bought mine.

One could always return it if it doesn't "do the job" of deleting Macro.

The older "black boxes" won't work on the "level-2" macrosplat.

If you have a decent "t.v.-out" card, you could rip with DVDDecrypter in all-files mode or with SmartRipper, or with 'Shrink and Have the ripping set to remove macrovision and then record via the software dvd player (with any necessary software installed) onto your v.c.r..

Or, if you have a dvd burner, you could burn to an rw and then play the rw in the standalone (make sure standalone plays rw) and send the video out from the composite out (r.c.a.) jack or the s-video out jack of the standalone to the v.c.r.

This is a "legal" method as rw's are considered temporary record media. You would of course, "wipe" this rw on next temporary record. This paragraph is to the moderator as I do not support pirates and pirating, either.

With recordable dvd media @ less than $1.00 ea. (in quantities of 100 or 200), go ahead and give them a dvd player (as a present).

              Color Stripe

I finaly bought a Stripe Master from these guys at http://www.icos-tech.com since then their site is at last up and running. The picture quality is fantastic when backing up from stand alone DVD player to VHS tape.

The thread is back to life

The Sima Color Corrector (black box) WILL remove Macro vs2 from DVD's to VHS or SVHS.
Proof is wrong on that one.

No need to load/encode the VHS to hard drive then transferring back to DVD when going straight from DVD player to VHS (via ver 2 black box) saves time.

Glad you got one that you like.
