    About avi and divx movies

    How can i play avi or divx movies in dvd players, so i can watch them on TV

    Well you burn it as a VCD and most of the new standalone DVD players support them.

    Otherwise use a TV out.

      Divx and AVI are compression schemes. Set top DVD players do not have the decompression necessary to view them. You can convert to VCD as was previously mentioned, but this is really crummy quality and takes 1 cd per hour of movie or you can go get yourself a dvd burner.

        Everything looks better on the TV... you can use TMPGEnc to load your avi file (divx) then encode it with the settings you want to make a vcd compatible .mpg file.

        Check out www.dvdrhelp.com and their guides on how to make a vcd out of a divx avi.
