    Is that macrovision..?

    I have WIN-TV-PVR-350 from Hauppauge...and a PAL VCR (video)....(actually i live in Greece)..my video has the ability to playback NTSC but every time i 'm trying to capture NTSC vhs with my PC i get black & white picture..Can i fix that somehow?

    I connect PC and VCR through scart...

    It sounds like your capture device is receiving an NTSC signal. Some PAL VCRs only output NTSC video when playing NTSC tapes, and I think yours is one of them.

    See if you can set your capture device to capture NTSC instead of PAL. If not, you will need to find a VCR that can play an NTSC tape on a PAL system.

      No, it's not Macrovison. I have a Hauppauge, also. Reason I bought Hauppauge is it does not cause problems when recording macrovision tapes or dvds for back-up.
      Rig :

      P - 4 @ 1.7 Ghz, 768 mb (133) Ram, Intel 845 chipset M'board, Seagate 60 Gig., 5400 rpsm hdd, Maxtor 40 Gig. 7200 rpm hdd, Hauppauge 880 pvr card, etc.. O.S. - XP Home Edition.

        what is the answer?

        can't get color to show up at all when capturing from the NTSC vhs tape

        tried selecting different formats, doesnt matter, it's always black and white

        what to do ?
