    Suche neue Firmware für Philips DVD723

    hallo leutz,
    habe einen dvd-player von philips (dvd723). kostete ja nur 339€!!!
    manche (s)vcd´s werden nur mit aussetzern oder garnicht abgespielt
    der vorlauf funzt dann auch nicht
    eine anfrage bei philips ergab, dass neue firmware nur an händler verschickt wird.

    hat jemand eine adresse, wo ich aktuelle/funktionsfähige firmware für mein gerät ziehen kann oder muß ich mir ein beliebiges teil für 99€ (media-/walmarkt/...) holen wo scheinbar alles läuft?

      Du brauchst eine neue Firmware? Kein Problem - wenn du dich dabei an diese Beschreibung hälts:

      "Instructions: You need to burn a CD-R in Mode 2 CDROM-XA ISO9660 which contains the files "xxxxxxxx.xxx" and DOWNLOAD.xxx" only (where xxx and xxxxxxxx.xxx are numbers which represent the version and revision of the firmware and which vary depending on the firmware version you download). For best results, burn at 1x speed. Also, you must ensure that you finalize (or 'fix') the CD-R. Once you have done this;

      Switch on the player and wait for initialising to complete
      The display will read 'No Disc'.
      Open the drawer, insert the disc and close the drawer. Do not press 'Play'.
      The new firmware will load automatically and, when completed, the drawer will open once again.
      Remove the disc and close the drawer by pushing gently on the front edge. Do not use the 'Close' button.
      Switch off the power and then switch on again.
      Reprogramming is now complete.
      Note: Philips manufactured and shipped a large amount of their players with a PROM rather than a FlashMEM IC. On these players, it is impossible to flash-upgrade the firmware from a CD-R. Should you continue to get errors while trying to upgrade the firmware in your player, and you're absolutely certain that you have followed the instructions correctly, then you may have one of these players. You will need to telephone your local Philips Technical Support desk (see the player's manual) to have it upgraded."
