pb with a avi file!!!

I installed codec 3.11 and 4.12 ,but i can't have the video on an avi File,i only have the sound....I opened This file with VirtualDub and it said:

Couldn't locate decompressor for format DX50(unknown)
VirtualDobe requires a video for Windows(VFW) compatible for codec to decompress video.Direct Show codecs.such as those used by Wmp,are not suitable.


Must I download the codec 5.02???
