avi to vcd or any format that dvd player will play???

maybe someone can set me straight. i am wondering first of all can it be done second of all what is the easiest & best way to:
change an avi movie file to vcd or any format that can be played on a standard dvd player - you guessed it - i'm a newbie.

TMPGEnc, and NERO to burn.

utilize the "search" function and type in the appropriate keywords for detailed instructions, and possible troubleshooting techniques, should you incur any problems.

thanks for the reply - i tried nero 5.50(latest version) and it said that the file type was incompatible for the application. do people normally have problems with the nero software or am i doing something wrong?

use TMPGenc first to convert to VCD compliant MPG, u will find templates within TMPGenc
