Vcd to Hard drive

Hi

i've a VCD movie,cuz my CDROM drive is too slow , i would like to copy it to my hard drive,

i tried to explore the cdrom for *.vcd , but their size doesnt make sense to a movie size,

how can i copy the movie date to my hard drive,and what is the software to convert it to avi or mpeg?

Copy the .dat file(s) from the MPEGAV folder into your HD.
