Is there a program that will tell me

what codecs are installed and where there located? I'm running an XP Pro system. Through testing to get a video capture software package to work over the past 3 month's, I've install god only knows how many different combinations of codecs and drivers. Well now I've developed a problem which I believe is caused by some of these codecs ( System reboots during activating Powervcr). So I want to start all new by removing all references and codecs and start back with what someone here might suggest as a reliable set to install that works.

    Thanks in advance

You should be able to delete individual codecs in 'control panel'->'sounds and multimedia'->hardware->'audio codecs'/'video codecs'
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
