Problem with playing divx files

when i play divx files the movie works fine for about half an hour and then i hear the sound few seconds before the picture comes (i can hear shooting and after few seconds i see a someone shoot). is it has to do with the version of the codec i have?
what can i do to fix it

Are these files that YOU created, or files that you downloaded?

There's no accounting for the quality of downloaded files. The problem you've described does not sound like a codec problem.
