Theoretical question folks, say someone had a DVD burner

and had a DVD disk with a movie on it, how would that person copy the disk to his 50 GIG hard drive then burn it to a blank DVD disk? I'm very curious. Thanks

By using ripping and authoring software (after reading the related tutorials at DVDDigest)...
