    Avi's with no sound

    Hi

I like to download episodes of US Tv Shows.
Most times it works great, but sometimes
i get some files that show the video, but without sound.
those files are about 30 Megs smaller than the "usually" ones, too. What is the matter with those? Is there a new compression
    or a rare soundformat?
I got the latest version of the divx codec.
What can I do to watch them properly (Somebody must be able to hear them otherwise he wouldnt share them)??

    Thanks

    felix

use GSPOT to check the codecs that were used within your file

you will be told which codec it is and if you have that very codec installed

should i un-install the other codecs first?

With which program am I supposed to open the AVI after the installation?

for the time being i would NOT uninstall anything else

if you find it's not working, uninstalling MIGHT help

play your avi file with any decent player (i.e. NOT wmp7/8 but wmp 6.4, bsplayer, powerdivx, zoomplayer etc)

              hi,
i find that if you use an older codec such as divx codec 3.11 it works more often i used to have the same troubles as you but i uninstalled everything and reinstalled them and they seemed to work fine.
There could be another problem the files your downloading mine be dodgey copies and dont have sound.

P.S can u please give me a link of where you download these shows from?? or do you download them off a program like morpheus or kazaa?
