Black Video on all formats

I have the nimo build7 codec pack installed right now, and i have tried just about every other combination. The divx codecs are definately installed because I can see video for a few second, but only after i minimize windows media player and the maximize it. After several seconds it reverts back to black. I do have sound, all the time. I've tried installing and uninstalling premiere. I have the latest directx and media player. I have windows 2000, service pack 3. The only thing i can think of that it might be is my video card. I have a firegl2, with the latest drivers. My old geforce2 plays them fine. also, the *.wmv file format actually plays video, but everything else does not. All of the video files I've been trying to play are not encoded by me, they are downloaded and they work on other computers fine.

u should try another player (like bsplayer dor avi and power dvd for mpeg)!
are u using the new version 9 of the wmp???
it might be a bug of the beta!?
