How will camera vibration affect MPEG compression?

I'm installing a CCTV camera on top of a 40 foot pole. I'm curious what affects camera vibration (from the wind) will have on the MPEG-2 compression algorithm.

In addition, will vertical vibration (up and down) have a different affect than horizontal (side to side) vibration on the compression algorithm?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Reduced quality or increased filesize. But I suspect you already knew this. How big this effect will be, depends on a number of factors, like the complexity of the picture, and the amout of video noise.

In general I don't think so, but it depends on the picture, if your picture contain many horizontal lines, it will naturally be more affected by vertical movements of the camera.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
