Win XP SP1 rejects Nimo pack?

I've updated Win XP to SP1. I've installed tsunami and nimo
codec packs. Now when I try to play a DVD disk in Windows Media Player8, I get a clean looking message "Windows Media Player is currently unable to play DVD video" and "Details" show
"Error ID = 0xC00D116A, Remedy ID = 0x00000000"

When I uninstalled both tsunami and nimo packs, the DVD started playing in WMP8 again! If I install just tsunami, then DVD plays in WMP8. I tried installing either nimo5.7 or nimo5.8 with a full set of codecs and in both cases
WMP8 refused playing a DVD. Uninstalling them fixes the problem!

So, it seems like WMP8 detects some nimo codec and refuses to play DVDs!

Does anybody have any clue about what is going on here? Is this a new Microsoft Trojan designed to prevent users from unlocking DVDs with WMP and then ripping them? Also, InterVideo WinDVD was very flaky with Nimo installed while
DirectDVD 4.0 worked just fine.

Update: Win XP SP1 and Nimo

After about 10 installs/uninstalls I've tracked down the issue
to the following filter:

VobSub Version 2.18, DirectVobSub Version 2.18

If I install everything but this filter WMP8 plays DVD just fine.

What is so special about this VobSub anyway?

Thanks for the tip !
I've been through all of it :
- playing divx without sound.
- installing Nimo pack
- All divx players crashing under windows XP because of a problem of compatibility with one of the codec.

=> I uninstalled Nimo and re-installed it without this codec and now everything is working perfectly !

What is so special about this VobSub anyway?

It's a filter for displaying ripped subtitle files, such as SUB.

The general rule when installing codec packs is that you should install ONLY those that you need and untick those that you don't.
