SVCD Movie Conversion w/tmpegnc leaves out audio? Y

I have never had this problem before with the anime i have converted, but my movie (DVDrip) downloads convert w/o audio. Well tmpegnc couldn't even read the audio before the conversion why is that? And i know it has audio becuase my divx player plays the avi file fine. Need Help! Please

For conversion of .AVI to (any) MPEG format, TMPGEnc cannot read .AC3 or Variable Bit Rate (VBR) .MP3 audiostreams...

Ok! I have VirtualDub 1.4 and I know to set to Video to Direct Stream Copy, what do i Set the audio to in order for tmpgenc to work, and what should i save it as on VirtualDub

and also how long does the process usually take?
