    Start-Up Software Needed

Rather than re-invent the wheel, here's a couple of software wants that I'm sure would be helpful to several people.

FIRST, it would be nice to have some kind of software that would detect and automatically configure a computer for the best performance when using editing software. IE: Modify/Change BIOS setting etc.

SECOND, everytime that I need to fire up my editing software, I have to do a CTRL-ALT-DELETE to close all my operating programs accept IE and SYSTRAY. It sure would be nice to have some kind of software that I can fire up and take care of this tast. Also, when I'm done, it would be nice to have a short cut to restore all my normal operating software.

Am I dreaming and asking too much? Or, do I just need to learn to enjoy the torture?

      1. a BIOS can only be tweaked so much, very little could be done (from defaults) that would effect actual performance. your settings are saved, no need to change them

      2. use hardware profiles to disable unneeded services. again, the performance gain is minimal at best unless your PC is packed with software running many background services

        New Guy, wants to know

        Hello,

Old guy here trying to learn new stuff.
I have a PS2. What, I would like to know is?

        1. I have some interesting WMV files on my
PC. I would like to transfer some of them to
a USB ported MiniDrive & be able to see them
        on my PS2.

        2. Is this possible?

        3. If yes, Please let me know what I need to
        do or buy.

        4. Remember, I'm old & fragile. (A senior)

        Thank-you
        Mr. Nobody
