Hissing!

Can any of you boys and girls help me out with this small problem i am having!
I have downloaded a film of the net,but when i play it in my dvd player on my tv,there is a terrible hissing noise in the background,does anybody know of any software that might put this right?

You should be able to remove a constant hiss with any audio editing software (e.g. GoldWave, CoolEdit, etc.)...
