    Black bars show up

I encoded a short film which was about 10 minutes long and i get these black bars after its done encoding...At the bottom here i noticed that the compresibility was in the red which im sure is bad, but everything i tried couldn't fix it. Here are some pics of the main areas...

If you know how i can fix this please help!

Sounds like you should have chosen an aspect ratio of 16:9 (most, if not all, movies have this AR). instead of 4:3.

I'm not sure about the compressibility check, but it shouldn't have anything to do with the aspect ratio. Choosing an aspect ratio of 16:9 should yield you a video with no black bars.

so i should use the NTSC with 16:9 AR? Also how much does the compresibilty check affect the quality of the output avi?

Use an AR of 16:9. NTSC or PAL, that depends on your source. It seems to me, though, that your source is NTSC.
