Creating a VCD question

I just created a VCD using the latest version of NERO with the built in encoder. When playing the file in my RCA DvD player it seems that the picture looks all stretched out. THe divx file i used was in Widescreen format. Is there any way to make a VCD widescreen because when it stretches it out it makes the quality of video very bad?

Convert the original .AVI to VCD-MPEG1 format using TMPGEnc.

Press the "Setting" radio button at the lower right corner of the screen.

Under the "System" tab, select "MPEG1-VideoCD"

Set the dimensions (under both "Video" and "Advanced") to 352x240 or 352x288.

Load the newly-created VCD-compliant .MPG file into NERO, select VCD and drag the file into the open area.
