Subtitle playback

Lately I´ve been having problems showing subtitles. I´m at the moment using BSplayer, but I´ve also tried many different players, but I don´t get any subtitles. The players either tell me that there is an error or doesn´t load the subtitle-file at all.

.sub files are the trouble at the moment.

Have I missed some updated codecs for subtitles?
There always is this .idx file also when I unpack subs, does it mean anything?

VobSub now installed, but I still don´t get the subtitle-file to play. Do I need to make a reboot?
