    Which Codec to use?

    Hello,

I am capturing VHS to DIVX... Which CODE should I be using?

Right now I am using DIVD MPEG 4 Low Motion, SHould I switch to DIVX 4? or DIVX 5?

Also I am capping at 640 x 480 res. at a 4000 KBS, IS this KBS to high? would I get the same type of results at say 2500kbs??

These are Cartoons so its doesn't need to be as crisp as a Movie..

Any help would be great, I am obviously new at this stuff..

    Thanks

DIVX5/XVID/SBC are all good. DIVX 5 is relatively simpler to learn. XVID offers greater tweaking potential. SBC is old but good At that resolution I would recommend 1000 kbps-1500 kbps.

I've had great results with animations using SBC. For particularly noisy videos, however, DivX 5 would yield better results.
