I can´t open a avi files with TMPGEnc!

This is strange,I have downloaded TMPGEnc and I tried to make a mpg of a AVI but I can´t even open up the AVI file with TMPGEnc.It says that the file I try to open is a file I can´t open or an unsupported file.But what the hell,that file is a AVI and this program is supposed to convert this file to mpg.
Can someone please help me out!!!!!!

Never mind!

I have solved the problem.I used a little program called GSpot and found out that I didm´t had the codecs installed.So I reinstalled Nimo Pack and choose the codecs and then it went good.
