CD Ripping Question? Does this matter...

I just bought a new CD that has a back cover stating "Mastered 96khz/24-bit"?? Will it make a difference if I rip and burn any songs off of this CD?? I don't understand what difference this makes to me?? If any...

    THANKS

To quote Nike - "Just do it"

Rip one track (in all of about two minutes) and see if the outcome is acceptable to you.

Of course, you are aware that some newer music CDs (primarily in Europe presently) are now being created with built-in copy protection...

      But...what exactly are you saying?

Right, but it sounds like you're stating that it WILL not be exactly the same?? Is that true??

"it sounds like you're stating that it WILL not be exactly the same??"

I don't understand your question. All I've intended to convey is that:

        A) You should rip one track - and if it's okay, you're "home free"

        and

        B) That you shouldn't be perplexed or too surprised if you're unable to get a good rip - that the cause of this COULD be one of the several new audio CD copy protection schemes that are just finding their way to market.
