subtitles .sub .txt

does anybody knows which software makes the "xxx.sub" subtitles
and what's the difference between .txt and .sub ?

Vobsub rips to SUB files, which are certainly better than TXT files (subtitles based on simple texts).

If you are ripping the subtitles off a DVD, use Vobsub. If you are creating your own subtitle script, you should use Sub-station Alpha and its accompanying Virtualdub subtitler filter.
