    Need Burning to CD

I've downloaded some movies that are in the .BIN file format. I want to burn them to VCD so I can watch them in my DVD player that supports it. I'm using Nero. I try to burn the image file with Nero after selecting Burn Image and after it is "burned" it doesn't playback at all. This has happened with just about any .BIN movie I download. Can someone help? Should I use a different program?

    Thanks,

    Josh

Are you SURE that your dvd player supports vcd? It might also be an svcd that you are downloading...Check this site to make sure your dvd player supports certain formats.

i believe that winrar or winiso can extract a .BIN to a temporary folder and from there you can burn it from nero, the extracted file

i am extracting it with WinRAR. My dvd player does support vcds, i've played other ones in it before. Anyone have any ideas why the Bin Files won't burn or have an idea?

First, make sure that the .bin file was completely extracted, and also try using a different brand of media to burn it on.

This doesn't mean your stand alone DVD player also support the SVCD format disc, most of the bin file now days over net is an image file for SVCD, this may the real reason for your problem i guess, just FYI!

No, but by doing the following, you can create a modified file that will "fool" your burning software (NERO, etc.) that it's going to burn a VCD:

                  Use TMPGEnc as follows:

                  File>>MPEGTools>>Simple Multiplex

                  Load your SVCD file

                  Change mode to "MPEG1-VideoCD"

Enter a new filename in the "Output" box

                  Press the "Run" radio button

(Do not be concerned about any "Buffer underflow" messages you may see)

Burn (DO NOT ask burning software, such as NERO to CONVERT to VCD, rather merely BURN as a VCD)

                  Comment

                  Working...
