copy protection macrovision - vhs analog capture

    Howdy Folks,

I need some serious help here. I built a new machine 2.5 gig processor w/ a leadtek a280le video (vivo) card. There lies the problem... the new video card seez the macrovision shit and I get big white block of shit across my picture. I cant use my old video card b/c like a fool I installed XP on NTSF formatted HD thus I cant go back now and have a dual OS system without alot of problems I understand. (no drivers for the old video capture card with XP.. the company put a new driver in the newest software bundle of pinnacle studios but it didnt work for me...I Have a pinnacle studios DC10 plus capture card ...thats my old card)

Ok, now that I am done ranting I need to find something that will defeat the macrovision with my VCR into my new capture card which is the leadtek A280LE. I have tried 2 video enhancers which I read worked but these didnt. I also tried an old VCR prob made around 1985 ...however that still didnt work. I understand some old vcr's work and some dont. Something I Have tried is an RF modulator which I read worked? Anyone tried one of these say from Radio Shack or something? The more I think about it there has to be some software for video out control to get rid of this shit I would think? Anyway... if anyone has some suggestions I would be gr8tful for some advice. (my old vhs collection needs to be converted!)

I had same problem, but the Digital Video Stabilizer (same as modulator??) worked for me. ($30) You attach it between the vcr & the capture card-video only. Make sure the battery (takes a little 9 v) is new. My first one didn't work because battery cable was loose, sent back and this one worked first try. Hope this is not rehash of what you already tried.

        To lordkarma

Are you by any chance trying to capture in MPEG-2 format? See my post in reply to nativechick5's post in other 'macrovision' topic.
