    avi codecs

    i've got divx,mpg, and some avi codecs but why is it my windows media player 7.1 will not playback some files listed as avi... how do i get the codec to open up those avi files i cant open up???

    I would suggest dloding a complete filter pack ie..Tsunami or Nimo.....Both are available here...

    I prefer Tsunami of the two.....

    Not too many films I come across that it wont play..
    If at first you don't succeed get a BIGGER hammer !

      In addition to that, I recommend that you use the more reliable WMP 6.4 or BSPlayer.

        what site can i download a complete tsunami filter pack and a bsplayer or wmp 6.4 mp and why is the wmp 6.4 more reliable than 7.1 wmp,,,,,,,,,thanks L8......
        p.s. whats a bsplayer???........ sorry im a novice

          Search through UncasMS's homepage. The pack can be found in his download page.

          Player softwares can be found here. WMP 6.4 is usually preinstalled with Windows and can be accessed by running the command 'mplayer2.exe' from within the Run Command.

          why is the wmp 6.4 more reliable than 7.1 wmp
          The few reasons I can recall are:
          1. It allows you to access the codec properties
          2. It loads faster and is not as 'fussy' as its younger brother
