    Try this...

    1. If you want to edit or to correct a subtitle, try subsync

    2. If that subtitle is not synchronised with your divx (it happened to me), use divxsubtitle 0.6 to stretch (or to increase) his timing after having calculate the % of unsynchronization or try subadjust if you want only convert frames.

    3. Transform your subtitle into *ssa file with (for example) subconvertor (*.srt into *.ssa) in order to use it with virtualdub (last version = 1.4.8, end of dec 2001. Freeware)

    4. Before using virtualdub, you must put those filters into the plugins repertory of virtualdub: subtitler.vdf et vobsub_vd.vdf.

    5. Finally use virtualdub to merge your subtitle file *.ssa and your divx. When you'll use virtualdub, dont forget to compress your divx file with a codec compressor (last = divx 4.12, dec 2001) that you activate in virtualdub. If you dont do that, you will obtain a no-compressed file with tons of Gigabites (dont smile : it happened to me) !!!

NB. You'll find all softwares on this marvellous site, digital-digest !
