I need help :) :) :)

I am trying to create a continuous version of the Lord of the Rings for my computer(6 1/2 hours long! I have the extended edition of the Fellowship and I have 4 parts(mpeg-2) to the Two Towers... Well the problem is is I have no problems getting the Fellowship to a file from the DVD... But when I try to do the Two Towers for some reason it wont convert into a new file(I wanna splice it into the Fellowship so the credits are not there)... The problem seems to have something to do with the message and credits before the film starts and the copies I make freeze or play with no audio/video... I would appreciate any help on this matter
