Win XP start up programs (sorry not DivX but inportant)

I've got WinXP and I was wondering how you change the programs that start up when you restart your computer. Because I had a virus the file name was CMD32.exe and it is showind CMD32 is not there and I want it where it doesn't even start up anymore. Thanks

A few possibilities I can think of:
    1. Run the command 'msconfig' from the Run command and uncheck the one that you don't want autostarted.
    2. Check Windows Services (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools) and see if the entry for the said virus is anywhere in there.
    3. Check the Startup menu for any entry for the virus.
    4. Use an Antivirus program to eradicate the virus.
    5. Reboot into MS-DOS (true, not Windows-emulated) and manually delete the offending EXE file.

ok I did something different because it was trying to open something that wasn't there. I had already deleted the virus. I made a shortcut for MSN Messenger deleted MSN messenger from start up then renamed the shortcut for MSN Messenger to CMD32 then placed it in the Windows/system32 folder now MSN messenger loads when it tries to open the deleted virus lol
