    lotr - two parts, can't join!!!!

    Hi

    I have lotr in two parts, upon trying to join them using VeedubP4 but brings up message stating different data streams but I'm sure they are both DivX. What do I do?????

    I'm sureonce I've joined them I'll split them onto three CD's, I'm okay with that part of the process, but I don't know how to join!!!!

    Someone help me please?

      1) Load the first .AVI file into VirtualDub or NanDub

      2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

      3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

      4) Repeat steps 1) through 3) for the second part

          Hellol Interesting...

          Just done this with LOTR XVID...joined the two avi's together with
          a proggy called AVIJOINER then run the joined file through TMPGENC, then split it into three files, using the batch encoder function wnt to bed then went to work and viola! three mpg's, just burned them with NERO to SVCD noprob (apart from the wait)

          ATB....

              Screen dumps of 'File Information'

              Hi

              Please find the screen dumps of two files for lotr. top is first part!
              It's in black and white as anything else was too big!

                  1) Actually, they were both created using the XviD (NOT DivX) video codec.

                  2) They appear to contain EMPTY audiostreams.

                  Have you successfully PLAYED these files?

                      I've played them both using DivX player. I messed about with them using FourCC changer because they didn't originally play - don't ask me what I did, I don't know!!!

                      The audio was fine, perfectly in time with the film.

                      Am I stupid or is this something complicated - I've tried everything I've read, and the only option seems to be that it is IMPOSSIBLE to join them because of their diffferences. Is this true, because I'd be pretty damn peed off if it is!

                      Anymore suggestions please. Thanks for looking at this setarip - any second opinion is always welcomed.
