For MP3 players, my vote goes to the simple and minimalistic Coolplayer. In addition to that, it uses the accurate MAD decoder for decoding MP3 files, which results in better sound.

Let's keep the thread on-topic by the way, guys.

      Best movie player

Before I started having DVD playback probs (see my first post on forums), I would say that Maximus DVD is the best - for me anyhow.

It's feature packed and free, with screen grabs etc.

With reagrds to MP3 players, call me conventional but I have no problem with WMedia Player 8. But then again, I'm not really a sound kinda girl so wouldn't notice the difference - especially with my generic speakers!

I started out with WinDVD, but switched to Power DVD and like it much better. Both of them gave me a little trouble with region issues, esp. WinDVD, and that seemed to be related to ripping issues, too, but as players they both generally work well. I'm using the WinMP that comes with 2KPro and that seems fine, too. The sound on RM never strikes me as being very good, but that might the file, not the player. Anyhow, that's a newbie two cents!
