    subtitles help!

I've used vobsub and followed the guide but when I go to preview ,I cannot see the subtitles. I'm using the .sub extension with vobsub 2.3 . This shouldn't be that hard!

Also, has anyone used a subtitle extension SMIL multimedia and is this any different to attach.

    Hi, and welcome.
Make sure the avi and sub file are names the same.
    EG.

    My_Movie.avi
    My_Movie.sub

Vobsub should automaticlly kick in. Right click on the screen during playback to enable/disable subs.

one other question, can I use an .srt subtitle file with an avi or do I have to convert it to a .sub file. If I do , how do I convert it?
