trying to get dvd burner to work right

does anyone know hpow to completely get roxio ez cd creator and direct cd off a computer so i can install my dvd burning program? please help this newbie out.

Have you tried uninstalling adaptec software from the "add-remove programs"?

yes thats was the first thing i did. then when i go to install my dvd r program it says it wont be installed because of conflict with adaptec ez cd creator
