    Copy Protected audio CDs

Recently (actually have been quite a long time ago), there are some COPY PROTECTED cds that cannot be CD-Red Nor copied to hardisk. eg. most Avex's japnese pop CDs.
    - Does anyone know what is the mechanism behind so.

    - Also is there a way to surpass this protection and ripped it out as mp3.

    - However I have actually found some mp3 of these cds on the web.

    - The only way i can think of is to record it to the MD and then import it into the computer. Will this results in significant quality loss?

    - The CD itself provide sort of player which can play the CD on the computer. Since i reckon that as the computer plays the cd, it must copy the material to the computer's hardisk or at least RAM, will there be a way to find this information and encod them into mp3?

    Thx
