Can anyone recommend a good, yet free to cheap MPEG editor? I've been going from MPEG (VRO files) to AVI for edit, back to MPEG for generating DVD-R's. The AVI files are huge and the quality resulting from 2 passes through the codec isn't very good. What I need is a MPEG editor that can handle large file, allow cuts, then splice the resulting segments back to a single MPEG output file.

My current process is to use DVDtoAVI to convert the AC-3 audio stream to a wave file. I then feed the d2v file to TMPGEnc and have it generate a MPG file from the original VRO file and the wave file just generated. I've tried using the MPEG tools for editing the new MPEG file, but it crashes often when handling large files. I'll try the other program you mentioned to see if I have any better luck.Comment
