Help with playing an .avi file

i have an avi file and i cant play it.
i have tried nimo codec pack 5 beta 7 and ac3 and a few other codecs. a friend told me that he can play it in realone player but that doesnt work for me.
which other codecs can i try ??????????????!

Load the file into VirtualDub
From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"
Post a screen capture of that window here. If you're not able to do this, then TYPE here EVERYTHING (regarding both "Video" and "Audio") that appears in the "File Information" window...

u could try using xvid mpeg-4 codec, if u wan to doanload serach it by XviD_Install .

If that fails you could also try installing the latest Tsunami Codec/Filter pack....
