Best codecs

Hi,

I have some experience in digital video but I need your opinions. I'm about to format my computer and will install new codecs. I'm woundering what codec pack you would use. I just want the basics, divx, xvid, ac3 and so on. Not more not less.

I have used ACE and Nimo codec packs, just picking the codecs I wanted to install and have had no trouble.

First one I ever heard of with success with Nimo

Have just had trouble playing back a clip and following comments above have uninstalled nimo and installed tsunami.

there's no better and more reliable filterpack available than tsunami 3.9.9 solving problems - not creating new ones.

I think Nimo is the best codec pack available.

I mean, who wouldn't want to install a codec pack that doesn't work correctly? I can't say I know anyone who wouldn't want to troubleshoot a software package to see which elements don't work the way they are meant to... come on... it's so fun!

If all you care about is playback, installing FFDShow and configuring it to take care of DivX3, DivX4, DivX5 and XviD contents is highly recommended. FFDShow has the best looking decoding quality compared to other decoders IMHO.

I have had success with Nimo as well (not that I EVER had trouble with it actually). It is just that I prefer Tsunami for its more updated contents.

I don fuq with packs. i find i download the
codec required for the contient i'm viewing. For those illequiped to open a hex editor and find that information may you be shot in a drive by. Installing jusst what's needed not a dam thing more!!
