Nero Crashes in windows xp

Sometimes in nero when I just start burning a cd, my pc crashes and restarts, stuffing the cd and also pissin me off, anyone had this problem with nero 5.5 and win xp

Try uninstalling it.

If you have a partitioned hard drive, make sure Nero installs where it wants to.

Nah mate, the h/d aint partioned and the nero is in the defualt install folder, only happens while burning, and not all the time, is a weird fault, im thinkin maybe hardware

Update to the most current version of NERO - I believe it's 5.5.10.28...

I have 5.5.8.1, why should that make a difference

AHh well heres the deal, win xp has built in cd-writing service which is provided by roxio, and UNFORTUNATELY that service and nero dont get along too well
so you open up your services and disable the "IMAPI Cd-Burning Com Service"
.trust me nero will load faster and work better
